Guiyang's Baiyun district has provided partner assistance to a town in Guizhou province with 656,100 yuan ($94,000) in dividends to 405 poverty-stricken households.
Baiyunshan town, which is in Changshun county in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture in Guizhou, used the money to complete 12 projects and has attracted over 15 million yuan in support from special government funds and the wider society.
Through the platform of partner assistance, the above projects involving industrial development and infrastructure construction are on show at the breeding base of Dan's Crispy Duck in Jinshan village, the breeding base for crayfish in Sijing village and the edible fungi plantation in Liangshui village.
Baiyunshan town has achieved continuous development in industries, markets, jobs, education and medical support. Data show that by now, 667 households covering 2,208 people have been lifted out of poverty and the poverty headcount ratio has fallen to 1.28 percent.
