Baiyun plans for rural living environment improvement

Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has implemented measures to improve the living environment in rural areas to boost rural revitalization this year.

Baiyun plans to launch seven key projects involving cleaning drinking water, power grid upgrades, road construction, farmhouse reconstruction, garbage treatment, sewage treatment, and the “toilet revolution.”

Baiyun will make Niuchang township a pilot area to build various clean and high-quality villages, including the reconstruction of 140 buildings and the construction or upgrading of 12 public toilets, to realize a 90 percent popularity rate of toilets in households and a 100 percent popularity rate of toilets in villages.

In addition, Baiyun aims to realize an over 90 percent coverage rate of domestic waste monitoring platforms in rural areas, enhance the management of the six sewage treatment plants, as well as establish a long-term management mechanism of infrastructure related to rural living environment.
