Yanshanhong township in Baiyun district has made great efforts to promote its economic development in the region, according to local officials.
They said the township has tried to develop a demonstration orchard that integrates tourism and catering in Caoguan village.
A total of 40 hectares of fruit trees have been planted in the area, producing yellow peaches, plums and waxberries.
The village, rural cooperative and farmers take different roles in managing the orchard.
The township has also encouraged farmers to grow vegetables on a large scale, especially chives and seasonal vegetables. Yanshanhong has called for more industrial management of agriculture that uses scientific guidance.
Meanwhile, the town has set up a plantation to grow edible mushrooms. Local officials chose an area of about 2 hectares around Jianpo village, after field research.
They also cooperated with companies to share revenues and risks.
The partner companies plan to invest 2 million yuan ($285,433) to 3 million yuan on the infrastructure of the edible industry.
So far, the Jianpo village has finished preparing the land for use and a green house is now being built.
Furthermore, three idle green houses have been repurposed for use in Caoguan, covering an area of 7,000 square meters.
