Tang Wenfang, a policewoman from Guizhou's Baiyun district, helped an abducted woman in Huai'an, Jiangsu province finally find her parents – after having lost them for more than 20 years.
Officials said that a woman surnamed Liu has been living in Huaiyin district in Huai'an, Jiangsu province for over 20 years, but she has no permanent residence certificate.
They said that without the certificate, her life had proved difficult. Then she and her husband Wu Yanpin, turned to local police in the Huaiyin public security bureau for help.
By getting her to recount Chang's faint memories, she managed to recall her early years in Guiyang's Baiyun district.
Then the local public security bureau sent an official letter to Baiyun district's public security department.
After verification, Dula police station in Baiyun district was assigned the case.
Tang Wenfang, a policewoman in Dula police station, mounted an intensive investigation which discovered that the woman surnamed Liu was actually Chang Liping. She was kidnapped in 1997, officials said.
Clues showed that Chang's parents lived in Heishitou village. Chang Changrong, the woman's father, shed tears when told of his daughter.
After the family's reunion, Chang Liping, together with her husband sent a letter of thanks to Tang Wenfang, the policewoman in Dula police station.
The letter expressed profuse gratitude to the warmhearted officer who reunited a family and made it possible for Chang Liping to finally apply for her permanent residence certificate.
