Guizhou's Quanhu community has actively worked on introducing new ways to improve its community governance, while aiming to improve the living environment for local residents, according to local officials.
They said the community in southwestern Guizhou province has tried to encourage property management companies and property owner committees to take part in local social governance.
The community gave evaluations for the property management companies on a regular basis, in an attempt to raise their sense of responsibility.
The community has also tapped local residents, asking them to provide clues for organized crimes.
Officials at all levels paid a lot of attention on finding and solving problems without delay. Residents spoke highly of their approach.
Locals said officials are now problem-oriented. In some cases, they went to residents’ homes more than 30 times and checked problems more than 200 times.
Quanhu topped the list in Baiyun district in a survey on people's sense of security in 2018. Moreover, more than 98 percent of residents said they were satisfied with their sense of security in 2019.
