New platform to drive industrial upgrading in Guiyang and Guian

A signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement between the Guiyang municipal people's government, the management committee of Guian New Area, and the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 17.

According to the agreement, the Guizhou Branch of the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center will settle in Guiyang, Guian.

It is set to promote high-quality development and industrial upgrading in Guiyang, Guian, by focusing on critical areas such as equipment manufacturing, electronic information, and new energy technology, fully utilizing the advantages and resources of the Eastern Center in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as introducing high-quality industrial projects, scientific and technological achievements, technology companies, and talents.

The National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center, a national-level technology transfer platform, was jointly established by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai municipal people's government in 2015.

Over the years, the center has established 11 overseas sub-centers and 33 domestic sub-centers. It has introduced nearly 900 overseas technology projects, implemented 225 domestic projects, and facilitated over 3.3 billion yuan ($461.67 million) in cross-border technology transactions.

The InnoMatch global supply-demand platform, created by the center, has gathered over a thousand scientific and technological service institutions, developed over 6,000 corporate members, and facilitated over 60 billion yuan in registered technology contracts.
